Per-actor redaction for FOI and high-stakes releases
AccuFind Redact lets FOI officers and legal teams decide release per person and per organisation — not per pattern — with the statutory basis attached to every decision and the full reasoning sealed on a cryptographic audit chain.
Try it yourself
Click an actor to redact every mention of them — or click a concept to redact every passage about it. Each redaction carries its statutory citation.
RE: Information access request 2026-04-17
Sarah Jones attended the case conference on 14 March 2026 to discuss the matter with case worker Sarah Williams, who documented the discussion. Sarah raised concerns about records held by ABC Council and Sarah followed up with the relevant department. Sarah subsequently provided additional materials in support of her request.
The treating clinician confirmed that Sarah Jones has been taking her medication regularly, and that she was prescribed the new tablets last month. The matter was referred to Daniel Lee, a director of ABC Council, for sign-off.
A directions hearing has been listed in the District Court for 22 May 2026, and Sarah Williams will attend on behalf of the agency to address the matter before the bench. Sarah has been advised to seek independent representation ahead of the upcoming proceedings.
Sarah Jones has fallen behind on rent and is struggling to meet utility bills this quarter. ABC Council confirmed that financial hardship support has been approved, and Daniel Lee has authorised a waiver of the outstanding debt owed to the agency.
Per-actor reasoning
Decisions follow the person, not the pattern. A reviewer marks a child's name once and every mention across the document is redacted in a single move. Adults, agencies, and organisations are each tracked as first-class actors with their own decision history.
Statutory citation per redaction
Every redaction can be grounded in a specific section of the relevant Act — SA FOI Act 1991, Commonwealth FOI Act 1982, Family Law Act 1975 (Part XIVB ss 114Q/114R, replacing the repealed s 121), Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017 (SA), and the Privacy Act 1988. Citations are grounded in the official Australian FOI exemption guidelines.
Cryptographically sealed audit chain
Every decision, mention, and amendment is hashed into a tamper-evident, cryptographically signed audit chain. A release pack ships with the chain attestation so any recipient can verify offline that the decisions weren't altered after release.
AU jurisdiction-aware
The platform knows which Act governs which agency. An SA-state-agency redaction defaults to SA FOI Sch 1 cl 6 for personal privacy, not Commonwealth s 47F. Federal overriding statutes (Family Law Act publication restrictions, Privacy Act APPs) apply across jurisdictions.
Handwritten-signature detection
Handwritten signatures are graphics, not text — most redaction tools miss them. AccuFind Redact detects raster signatures and vector strokes inside sign-off blocks and paints them out alongside the surrounding text.
Category-based concept search
Reviewers can search by concept ("medical procedure", "sexual abuse", "court proceeding") and attribute matched passages to the right actor. Built on semantic search with extractive matching — no generative AI in the redaction-decision path.
Built for
Teams that release sensitive documents under statutory obligations
FOI officers
Prepare statutory releases for citizens with per-actor decisions, citations on every redaction, and a sealed audit pack ready for review.
Child-protection records
Handle access requests where each child, parent, sibling, and caseworker needs its own release decision — and a defensible reason on the chain.
Legal teams
Run litigation discovery and redress-scheme releases with per-actor consistency across hundreds of documents and a tamper-evident production record.
Defence & law enforcement
Produce operationally sensitive releases with informant, witness, and officer identities tracked separately and auditable end-to-end.
How it works
Three steps from raw document to sealed release pack
Upload
Drop in the source documents. The platform identifies every actor across the whole case and surfaces draft redactions with their statutory basis.
Review per-actor decisions
Approve, amend, or override decisions one actor at a time. Every change is attributed to the reviewer and sealed into the chain.
Export sealed release pack
Ship the redacted document with its chain attestation and decision log. Anyone can verify offline that the release matches what the reviewer approved.
